Neil Gomes is a human+digital technology leader, business strategist, and change agent with extensive global experience developing new business models for growth. Neil believes that true business value can be realized at the confluence of transformative human+digital experiences.

Neil helps organizations discover, evaluate, and deploy new and unexpected business models that leverage consumer-focused digital experiences. Neil’s success at delivery is rooted in a design, inspiration, and execution ethos.

Neil is available as a consultant via his firm, NG Insights, and has also gathered extensive global experience working full-time for scaled organizations like CommonSpirit Health, Jefferson Health, USF, and the Tata Group of Companies.

As System SVP for Digital and Human Experiences at CommonSpirit Health, Neil leads strategy, delivery, and operations of all digital products and capabilities at massive scale for the largest non-profit health system in the US with 140 hospitals, 1,500 care sites in 21 states, 150,000 staff, and $33.3 billion in annual revenue. Neil and his 600+ member team generated over $300 million in revenue from a rapid pivot to virtual ambulatory health during COVID, built several new virtual acute and post-acute care products such as Virtual ICU, ER, and Companion during the COVID pandemic, transformed the digital discovery and access systems, and positioned the organization for rapid growth and targeted savings in a short span of time.

Prior to CommonSpirit Health, Neil was Chief Digital Officer and EVP for Technology Innovation and Consumer Experience at Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health System. At TJU and Jefferson Health, Neil served on the executive leadership team that grew revenue at the 2nd medical institution in the US (est. 1824) from $1.8 billion to $9 billion in 6 years. Neil led the digital transformation that developed consumer-oriented and value-driven digital and real-world solutions that precipitated growth, enabled differentiation, attracted philanthropy and other investment, spun-out innovative new companies, and defined the future of health.

Neil is also a global thought- and practice-leader on digital and tech. strategy and business transformation. Neil was inducted in the Forbes Technology Council in 2018 and regularly invited to speak at several global events including Mobile World Congress, World Economic Forum, CES, Enterprise Ireland, Google NEXT, IBM Watson World, IBM InterConnect, HIMSS, LSX Leaders London, TEDx, etc. Neil has also authored and published several research articles, blog posts, and book chapters, and served as an editor for journals.

Neil is a CIO100 (2016, 2020, 2021), BIG Innovation, HSX Champion, FutureEdge 50, Ventana Business Leadership, Business Transformation 150, Top of the KLASS, and Davey Award Winner.  He also received the Healthcare Innovator of the Year Award in 2020 from Millenium Alliance and is recognized in the Top 20 Chief Digital Officers by Becker’s and Top CIOs by PhillyCIO. He is also a member of the IBM Watson IoT, Adobe, Imprivata, and EMS advisory boards, and part of Google Next’s Leader’s Circle.

Neil is a lifelong learner with advanced degrees from Brown University, IE Business School, University of South Florida, and Goa University. Neil has also obtained certificates of learning from Harvard Business School, Wharton Business School, MIT, IDEO U, and Thomas Jefferson University and is a Mensa member. In his free time, Neil enjoys being with family and friends, traveling, playing the guitar, composing and singing, reading, and just relaxing at a beach.
